With a multi-decade music career that has taken him from the famed Apollo to Singapore and everywhere in between, Derrick “D-Nice” Jones has earned his status as a legend. His career began at age 16, when he was one of the founding members of the iconic 80s rap group Boogie Down Productions. With 1990 came his first Billboard number one single, but it was the club scene that captured his imagination. D-Nice started spinning in some of NYC’s most legendary clubs. Soon he was in demand by the likes of Diddy and the Oscars, playing parties and clubs worldwide – including President Barack Obama’s 2012 Inaugural. Ever the artist, D-Nice finds another creative outlet in photography, with solo exhibits and an appearance as a featured photographer on Tyra Banks’ “America’s Next Top Model.” In other words, this is an artist with vision – in every sense of the word.
